Ever wondered if the performance gains claimed by riverbed were true? I've seen the demo's and simulated network tests showing riverbed steelhead devices doing their thing, I've sat through the sales pitch, the technical explanations of how they work, etc. But today I saw them in action on a real network, and they really do work.

The below screenshots show Equallogic SAN replication accross a WAN link using two Steelhead 2050s. With COLD data stores we're seeing 72% data reduction accross the WAN. As the data stores "warm" up this number will go up.
